Ubuntu was originally housed at Monticello Methodist Church, and moved to Mosaic in 2023.  While at Mosaic we select 36 students from East Elementary, Third Creek Elementary, and N.B. Mills. Students are selected from rising 1st through 3rd graders who have shown to have significant reading challenges. Students are randomly selected through UNC's Impact Center. Students receive 85-90 hours of literacy instruction from teachers certified in literacy. In the afternoon we offer enrichment and once a week, family engagement including dinner. Volunteers help with meals, family engagement, student enrichment, and reading. Sign up to volunteer below.
